OK we're given 28 words and instructed to chose which ones best describe us the most and which describes us the least. the class knows it a test that gives an indicating of what type of manager you'll be. At first thought I said maybe I'll choose the characteristic i know would make a great manager. Then i decided what the heck I'll be honest with my self.

What that means IS that i place emphasis on shaping the environment by influencing or persuading others while working conscientiously within circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy.
Does it accurately me sures me? No!!! and Yes
to some extended it does come close to my personality traits but in different situations my personality changes. One situating I express dominance and in other situations i can be influential and so on......
I do believe that most people personality are fixed but some are very malleable.
The key is to better understand where a person is coming from rather than their management type.
My thought is that its just a test and should not be taken at face value. I've been in interactions where people who in past situation have being patience get pushy and accepting to challenges. I believe its the context of the situation that drives a manager's personality.

I always thought of you as C with a high I because I never thought we would both be dominantly I. But oh well..

I disagree with the test. I think of you as a High C. I feel you are very diplomatic and like to weigh out the pros and cons of situation before making a decision. You really showed this when we were doing the survival activity and when we were trying to come up with a fair way to have our tests weighed.
ReplyDeleteI totally disagree with your result. You are a D type. Knowing you from our group projects you are a person, you are the one that always takes a second look at everything, you are cautius and diplomatic. but then again I only know you from class.

I see you more as a high C, because I've noticed you've demonstrated in past class exercises that you think analytically, while weighing out the pros and cons. Hence, the "wet wood" comment lol. You also demonstrate how you concentrate on key details whenever we are faced with an exercise/challenge. I do agree with you though that the diagnostic test cannot be taken at face value, although it can be seen as giving insight to how people personality's may be.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think that you are a high C because you are very diplomatic with people and you think analytically. You are very concerned with accuracy example being the time we argued about the wood being wet and if it would be able to start a fire as Maggie already stated. You also encourage teamwork.
